Product Review: Axis-Y Complete No-Stress Physical Sunscreen Ver. 3

If you’ve visited oo35mm recently, your eye may have caught the lineup of pale yellow packaging with an array of words on them. If you take a deeper look, you’ll see that it’s the same skincare line of the ever so loved Axis-Y Dark Spot Correcting Glow Serum. oo35mm is the first official store in the United States to carry the Axis-Y line! Now, away from the Axis-Y display tucked in our sunscreen section is the Axis-Y Complete No Stress Physical Sunscreen. Let’s take a deeper dive into this sunscreen and why I think this should be the next sunscreen you pick up.
AXIS-Y COMPLETE NO-STRESS PHYSICAL SUNSCREEN

Appearance

The sunscreen comes in a squeeze tube with a narrow clear nozzle. I feel that this is a good sunscreen for those who still adhere to the two fingers sunscreen application method. Next to the SPF 50+ PA++++ is a green label marked ‘Ver. 3”, indicating the most recent reformulation which was updated in March of this year.

How It Applies

AXIS-Y COMPLETE NO-STRESS PHYSICAL SUNSCREEN
Most people are deterred from mineral sunscreens due to the white cast. But let me tell you, this sunscreen will change your mind. From the Reddit threads that I’ve browsed, it looks like the general public appreciated the first version of the sunscreen, and when the second one came around there were more comments on the white cast. According to users, the texture was more pasty and uncomfortable to wear. With this new formulation, Axis-Y has definitely improved on user concerns! Version 3 of this sunscreen texture melts like a lightweight cream with their new hydrofit formula. This will ensure your skin stays hydrated for an extended period of time. There’s also less of a white cast compared to the previous versions. The sunscreen leaves a glowy velvet finish. My skin also noticed the visible calming effect after application, thanks to the mugwort.

What It Is

Lastly, let’s talk about the formulation of the sunscreen. The Axis-Y sunscreen was recently reformulated in March. The most recent version is no longer formulated with titanium dioxide. There are no longer essential oils or fragrance in the formulation as well. I appreciate that Axis-Y promotes community as a brand experience and updates their products based on consumer feedback. Each product in the Axis-Y 6+1+1 line is composed of 6 base ingredients and 1 core ingredient-- in this case: mugwort. The base ingredients, serving as an anti-inflammatory haven, include calendula, green tea, and chamomile. Allantoin, grape, and squalane protects skin barrier function and reduces fine lines. You can say this sunscreen is truly sensitive skin friendly and beyond!

Takeaways

  • Newest version of Axis-Y’s Complete No-Stress Physical Sunscreen is now essential oil and fragrance free.
  • Suitable for all skin types especially acne, redness, and sensitized prone skin.
  • Velvet dewy finish with little to no white cast.
